Krafton has confirmed BGMI Lite for India by the end of 2026, targeting wider device support. The company is yet to reveal its launch date, features, download size or requirements.
Krafton India has officially confirmed that Battlegrounds Mobile India Lite (BGMI Lite) is coming to the country by the end of 2026. The announcement, made on August 16, ends months of speculation around a lighter BGMI version. Krafton says the new title is aimed at reaching a wider community of players, but has not yet disclosed the exact release date, supported devices, gameplay features or system requirements. BGMI itself has crossed 260 million downloads in India.
BGMI Lite is officially scheduled to launch in India by the end of 2026. However, Krafton has not announced a specific day or month. The company has also not opened pre-registration or provided an APK for download.
This means players should not treat circulating dates or unofficial APK links as confirmation. Krafton says more information will be revealed closer to launch.
The biggest expected change is accessibility. A lighter BGMI version could help players using smartphones that struggle with the regular game, particularly when hardware limitations lead to frame drops, heating or performance issues.
However, Krafton has not confirmed the minimum RAM, processor, storage or Android version for BGMI Lite. It has also not stated whether the game will support iPhones. So, claims about specific RAM requirements or guaranteed FPS should be treated as speculation for now.
Krafton has not revealed whether BGMI Lite will use the same maps, weapons, modes or gameplay systems as the main BGMI game. Graphics settings and frame-rate options are also unknown.
Another major unanswered question is account support. Krafton has not said whether existing BGMI players will be able to use their current accounts, outfits, weapons, skins or progression in the Lite version.
That makes the upcoming announcements more important than the launch confirmation itself.
